Minnesota Disc Golf League
Disc'n Dudes Ready Golf
Updated 4/1/2022
In order to keep the round moving and keep the waiting around between shots to a minimum, we play ready golf. Or maybe it's because I'm a crotchety old man.
Basically, when it's your turn to throw, be ready with disc in hand. It's not the time to put on a show. No one cares; they just want to play. Here are a few more ways to respect other dudes' time.
Throwing
When it's your turn to drive, you should have your disc in hand and be ready to step up and throw. We try to go out in who's got the box order, but if the dude with honors isn't ready disc in hand, the next dude who is ready throws.
After all dudes have thrown a drive and on all subsequent throws, move to your disc as soon as you can do so without being directly in someone's way. Choose your disc and be ready. Pay attention to who's up for the First-in.
Deliberately distracting a dude is not ok. If you need to take more than 2 or 3, at most 4 practice strokes before a throw or putt, this league may not be for you.
Points
Also in an effort to keep things moving when determining who gets ctp or goes for first in points, there will be no time-consuming tape measures or pacing off. A majority vote of all dudes on the card is FINAL.
If it's too close to call, the dude with the least number of seasonal points gets the point. Grousing will be rewarded with a penalty stroke for each occurrence, no limit. It's just play money, dude.
Courtesy
Talking/Socializing is permitted at any time. Heckling or intentionally distracting a dude "during his throw" is not permitted. With the we all know "shebang-another card" exception. If you can't throw or putt when someone is talking, this league may not be for you.
Never throw a second garbage-just-want-to-see-what-would-have-been disc, unless you want the extra stroke.
If a dude has trouble finding his disc and calls for help, we ALL jump in to help with the search or expect and accept a stroke.
And remember it's all about fun... and the rules.
